| Salome In March 1988 with rehearsals already in progress I was asked to compose the music for the Gate Theatre's production of Oscar Wilde's Salome, directed by Steven Berkoff. On the opening night most of the music was improvised on an on-stage grand piano. As the years progressed through many tours the music became more fixed. Its role was to be the water in which the action swims, the incense surrounding actors and audience. As time has passed the body of the Salome music has given birth to pieces of music that have developed and moved on, which others remaining change and mutate. For the recording of this one hour 'Salome Suite' on solo piano, small changes have been made so that the music can exist as an experience independant from the theatre production.
